My Background Type-2 Diabetes

ree

My team and I have been making a ton of posts about Type-2 Diabetes but I realized that we haven't told you anything about my background in Diabetes and why I am so passionate about it!

First off, I have been a personal trainer and nutrition coach for over 10 years. I have my Bachelors in Human Health and my Masters in Exercise Science. During my MSC in London I spent time working with Diabetes UK researching and performing HbA1c tests on the average joe at malls and other public areas. We diagnosed SO MANY people with Type-2 Diabetes! It was crazy! People were living with GROSS sores on their feet, and they could barely get out of bed in the morning because they were so tired! They all just thought it was because of getting older but in reality it was Diabetes.

I have worked with SO MANY clients that I have had to talk into going to the doctor and get checked for Diabetes. Unfortunately, doctors typically do not have much nutritional expertise and dietitians are EXPENSIVE! Thats where I come in. As an Exercise Physiologist, Personal Trainer, and Nutrition coach I can help those people understand what Diabetes is, why it is important, what the technical jargon means, and lead them on a healthier path one small step at a time.

I love seeing the results that my clients get from my Nutrition and Fitness Programs! That is one of the reasons I have been a personal trainer and nutrition coach for so long. It is so rewarding to hear that a client's HbA1c levels have gone down and their doctor is lowering their medications. Or to hear that they are finally waking up in the morning with energy and feel comfortable picking up their kid to play in the backyard with them.

Here is one of my favorite testimonials:

"Taylor has been my trainer since July 2012 and I feel very fortunate to have him in my life.  Besides being my trainer, I also consider Taylor a treasured friend and he is very important to me.  I am 60 years old and even though there is a big age difference between us, I value his expertise, wisdom and knowledge as a Personal Trainer.  From Taylor, I have learned that we are never too old to make positive good changes to our bodies.  I have diabetes and I was told that if I did not get it under control that I would be put on Insulin shots.  When I first started with Taylor I asked him to help me get my weight down and my body in better physical shape.  Taylor has helped me to keep my weight down and under control and has kept me from adding insulin to my list of prescriptions.  I could go on all day about how Taylor has helped me and how much I think of him, but what I really want you to know is that I highly recommend Taylor to be your Personal Trainer!!!  He has changed my life and he will change yours too!!!"
